DAC’s first signing of the summer transfer window is Simen Juklerød from Belgian top-flight side STVV. The 32-year-old Norwegian left-back has signed a one-year contract with an option for a further season.
Norwegian left-back Simen Kristiansen Juklerød (born 18 May 1994) is DAC’s first addition of the summer transfer period. He has signed a contract with our club until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the agreement including an option for an additional year.
Born in Bærum, a suburb of Oslo, Juklerød began his football journey at local club IL Jutul before joining Bærum SK at the age of ten. He made his senior debut for Bærum during the 2013 season and moved to Vålerenga Oslo at the beginning of 2016, where he made his debut in Norway’s top division.
In the summer of 2018, he signed for Royal Antwerp FC and enjoyed three successful seasons with the Belgian club, highlighted by winning the Belgian Cup in the spring of 2020. Later that year, he featured in the UEFA Europa League group stage and was part of the side that defeated Tottenham Hotspur. A one-year spell at Racing Genk followed before he returned to Norway, where he spent another two and a half seasons with Vålerenga. Last summer, he moved back to Belgium and spent the recently concluded campaign in the yellow-and-blue colours of STVV.
Juklerød is a modern full-back capable of covering the entire left flank. Throughout his career, he has accumulated extensive experience, making more than 250 appearances in the Norwegian and Belgian top divisions.

“I’m really looking forward to starting work with the team. DAC first showed interest in me during the winter, and from the very beginning I had a very good feeling about the whole project. The club introduced me to its facilities, infrastructure and vision for the future, and everything impressed me with its professionalism. My goal is to help the team achieve the best possible results and to earn the club’s trust through my performances on the pitch so that they decide to exercise the option in my contract. And if I can also help open the door for more Norwegian players to come to Dunajská Streda, I’ll be very happy,” said the first Norwegian footballer in the history of our club after signing his contract. He will wear the number 18 shirt for DAC. We then asked Simen Juklerød to describe his playing style. “I’m the type of player who likes to contribute offensively, support attacks and create chances for my teammates. Earlier in my career I also played as a winger, so attacking responsibilities come naturally to me. At the same time, I want to be reliable defensively as well. I think the best description of me is a modern full-back.”
“Simen brings a wealth of experience from highly competitive leagues. He spent many years in Belgium, won the Belgian Cup with Antwerp and has regularly featured in European competitions. He is an intelligent and versatile player who can operate in several positions on the left side of the pitch. We believe his quality, professionalism and winning mentality will be valuable assets for our team both on the field and in the dressing room. During our discussions, he showed a strong desire to join DAC, and we wish him every success in our colours,” said DAC Sporting Director Jan-Pieter Martens.
