Festive Motifs for Special Occasions
The design of our new away kit perfectly captures the spirit of match days.
We proudly present our new away kit, inspired by traditional motifs from Rye Island.
In the Hungarian Museum of Ethnography in Budapest, there is a linen tablecloth from the late 18th century that originates from this very region. Its embroidered patterns now appear on our latest kit.
The Adam and Eve motif, stitched into the original fabric, symbolizes the faith of our ancestors. This textile was used exclusively on special occasions — on days that stood out from the everyday. Just like match days do for us – always special and ceremonial.
The new kit’s colors – burgundy and deep navy – convey strength and dignity through their dark tones. Paired with traditional Rye Island patterns, they create a distinctive visual effect worthy of days that deserve to be marked with extra significance.
In the past, it was customary for families to dress up for special occasions and invite a photographer to capture the moment for future generations. Following this tradition, we invited Budapest-based photographer Imre Zalka, who was the first to capture the new kit using a turn-of-the-century-style camera. The resulting images were created using an archaic photographic technique known as argentotype, and you can view them below the article.
Our new away kit, adorned with motifs from Rye Island, carries a sense of dignity that perfectly reflects the atmosphere of match days.
