We are opening a new chapter. The 41-year-old German coach has signed a two-year contract with the club.

DAC is entering a new era. The club has reached an agreement with Robert Klauss, who officially becomes the new head coach of the Yellow-Blues today. The 41-year-old German has signed a two-year contract.

Born in Eberswalde on 22 December 1984, Klauss is regarded as one of the most promising representatives of the modern German coaching school. Football has been his lifelong passion, although he quickly realised that his future would be on the touchline rather than on the pitch. While his playing career was spent in the lower tiers of German football, he embarked on his coaching journey at the age of just 21.

He made a significant impact at the RB Leipzig academy, where he played an important role in developing young players during the club’s rapid rise. He later earned an opportunity with the first team, serving as assistant coach under two highly respected managers, Ralf Rangnick and Julian Nagelsmann.

In 2020, Klauss was appointed head coach of 1. FC Nürnberg, where he gained valuable experience leading one of Germany´s most traditional clubs in the highly competitive 2nd Bundesliga.

His next major challenge came at Rapid Vienna. Austria’s record champions offered him the opportunity to work with a team regularly competing for domestic honours and European qualification. Klauss guided the Green-Whites in 67 competitive matches, including UEFA Conference League until the quarter-finals.

Working at clubs with passionate fan bases and high expectations has provided him with valuable experience, which he now brings to Dunajská Streda.

Robert Klauss joins DAC with a clear footballing identity. His teams are known for their high intensity, proactive approach, organised pressing and ambition to dominate matches through courageous football. He is also recognised for his commitment to individual player development and his work with young talents.

This combination of international experience, modern football philosophy and a proven ability to develop players was among the key factors behind DAC’s decision to appoint him as the club’s new head coach.

“I could feel the desire to win when speaking with the people at the club. That is exactly why I wanted to become part of this project. I found a strong infrastructure, a professional environment and people who work with a clear vision. From the very first moment, I felt the ambition and the hunger for success among the supporters, the city and the entire region. That ambition matches my own goals. I want to be part of DAC’s further growth and help the club achieve success. In my opinion, the foundations for that are very strong,” said Robert Klauss today after signing his contract, before adding: “We want to play attractive football and show in every situation that we are ready to fight for victory.”

“We conducted a thorough and demanding selection process. Robert distinguished himself through the clarity of his football philosophy, his experience in high-performance environments and his ability to develop both teams and individual players. We are convinced that his ambitions match those of DAC. We want to continue growing, competing for the highest positions and strengthening our presence on the European stage. Robert is the right person to lead us into the next chapter of our journey,” stated DAC Executive Director Jan Van Daele.
