Regarding the April 12 Match Against Slovan Bratislava
DAC 1904 expresses its deep disappointment and concern regarding the events that occurred during our April 12 match against Slovan Bratislava – in particular, the choreography (tifo) presented by the home supporters, which we consider not only inappropriate but also offensive, exclusionary, and divisive.
This tifo did not merely mock our club – it targeted ethnic, cultural, and national sensitivities that have no place in modern football or in society at large. At a time when football should be bringing communities together, we instead witnessed messages of division and exclusion.
We recognize that healthy rivalry is part of sport — but mocking someone’s identity, ethnicity, or regional background crosses a line that must never be accepted or normalized. We are proud of the diverse, inclusive, and culturally rich community that defines our club, our supporters, and our region. We will always stand firmly against those who question or attack these values.
It is our intention to file an official complaint with the Slovak Football Association (SFZ) and request a full investigation into the matter. We expect appropriate action to be taken in accordance with the SFZ’s own regulations as well as relevant domestic and international anti-discrimination standards.
We also call on all stakeholders in Slovak football – clubs, the league, media partners, and regulators – to reflect on the values we promote in our stadiums, on our screens, and in public life. Football must remain a space where respect, human dignity, and equality prevail — both on and off the pitch.
We thank our players and supporters who once again represented our club with dignity and unity despite the difficult circumstances. Your pride and solidarity set an example every day.
We live in 21st-century Central Europe. There is no place for exclusion in our game.
